I know from when I got married how stressful a time planning a wedding can be and the morning of the Big Day can be a nervy one – not the best time for applying a delicate and thin eye line! My approach with brides is therefore to take the stress out of looking your best on the day.
Whether you’re after a look which says English Rose or you prefer a touch of vintage glamour, I will work with you to create a look that will complement your dress, hair style, flowers and colour scheme, and importantly, last the entire day – through laughter and tears!
To develop the look, I recommend a practice session* around 6 weeks before the wedding day (the trial can be done earlier if you prefer). On this day we will discuss your ideas and suggestions before practicing the look to ensure that you are completely happy with it and have no sensitivities to any of the products used. Although I only use products that will not reflect camera flashes – which can give a bride a washed-out look – I will also photograph the finished look so that you can be sure the make-up will look as good in your pictures as it does in the flesh.
As part of this session, I can also give you advice on how best to look after your skin in the run-up to the Big Day and talk through some tricks of trade that will help your make-up to stay looking flawless for hours.
(*it’s not essential for others in your bridal party to have a practice session, although they are of course welcome)
On the day of the wedding, I will arrive in plenty of time to get you and any of your bridal party ready. It’s always better to have your hair done first ideally, and generally I prefer to make-up the bride last so that all she has left to do is put on her dress.
I will also give to each person made-up enough lipstick for top-ups throughout the wedding day.
